Most Instagrammable Places in Paris with Eiffel Tower Views

1. Place Du Trocadero

Located in the 16th arrondissement in Paris, Place Du Trocadero is a large open space located across the Seine river offering the best view of the Eiffel Tower. It is definitely one place that you can’t miss in Paris and is the most popular place to take photos with Eiffel Tower in the background. Because of its popularity, Trocadero is always crowded so don’t be surprised to see proposals, pre-wedding photoshoots, or even private photoshoots going on.

Despite all this, there are so many unique photo opportunities at Trocadero so take a stroll around the area. To take some of your best photos in Paris check out the staircase of Trocadero, the open space at the Palais de Chaillot area, the Trocadero garden, and the Fountain of Warsaw, which combines 20 water cannons.

How to reach Trocadero

No matter which arrondissement you are staying in Paris, getting to Trocadero is the easiest. You can take a taxi for a hassle-free but expensive ride or you can use a metro. Line 6 and 9 take you to the Trocadero metro station which is the closest to the area and a 2 min walk to Trocadero.

Best Time to visit Trocadero

The best time to visit Trocadero is at sunrise when the sky is beautiful in color or early morning when the light is gorgeous. Since there are many spots here to take pictures visiting at sunrise gives you ample time for photography. You can also come here at sunset but the area will be crowded so you might have to find a quiet place to enjoy.

Opening Hours

Since it’s an open area at the site of Palais de Chaillot, it is open 24 hours every day unless mentioned otherwise in case of a private event.

Cost to Visit

Trocadero is free to visit and all the surrounding areas of the complex including the gardens are also free.

Google Map Location: Trocadero Area

SUVARNA’S TRAVEL TIP: I highly recommend visiting Trocadero early in the morning (around sunrise) if you are a photographer or want photos with beautiful light. Since Trocadero is the most famous photo spot in Paris you have to be extra vigilant and careful of your belongings. This place is a hub for pickpockets and is known for theft. Hold on tight to your camera and never leave your belongings on the floor.

2. Rue de l’Université

Rue de l’Université is one of the prettiest streets in Paris located in the 7th arrondissement because you can have a view of the Eiffel Tower from this street. This is one of my favorite Eiffel Tower Photo spots in Paris and a must-visit. This cobbled stone street is surrounded by apartments on both sides so it gives the photos an aesthetic symmetry making it a dream for photographers.

The street is quite long so the exact coordinates of the spot where you need to be are 48.859626,2.296138. This might be the most Instagrammable street in Paris.

How to reach Rue de l’Université

After you finish taking pictures at Trocadero, you can walk to 225 Rue de l’Université as it is only 12 mins walk from Trocadero. In case you want to take public transport then bus stop 42 Monttessuy is just 3 mins walking to 225 Rue de l’Université. Metro lines 8 and 13 will also take to Rue de l’Université depending on where you are taking the subway from.

Best Time to visit Rue de l’Université

Since this street is not too wide and it is a residential area too so I recommend coming here early morning. You might still see a few photographers early in the morning but this time is your best bet to take some beautiful pictures without people in it.

Opening Hours

There is no opening hour for this street as it is always open however be mindful because people live in the apartments.

Cost to Visit

As it is a street it’s absolutely free to visit.

Google Map Location: 225 Rue de l’Université

SUVARNA’S TRAVEL TIP: You need to have a wide-angle lens to take pictures here so that the apartments on both sides along with the full Eiffel tower can fit in the frame. Also, If you have a portrait lens then it will be a plus as you can get some really beautiful portrait shots here.

3. Avenue de Camoens

Avenue de Camoens is a quiet cobblestone street offering fantastic views of the Eiffel tower along with the french architecture. This street is quite famous in the fashion industry and you might be able to witness a fashion photoshoot here but it isn’t extremely famous amongst the tourists as the nearby location Trocadero.

Even if the place is filled with people, you can still have your empty shot with a little patience.

How to reach Avenue de Camoens

The easiest way to reach Avenue de Camoens is to take a metro. Metro line 6 to Passy subway station is the closest to Avenue de Camoens and only a 5-6 min walk. Bus no 30 stops at Bir-Hakeim and from there it is about a 12-15 mins walk.

Best Time to visit Avenue de Camoens

The best time to visit Avenue de Camoens is in the morning before the light becomes too harsh but if that isn’t possible then anytime is good.

Google Map Location: Avenue de Camoens

SUVARNA’S TRAVEL TIP: Visit Avenue de Camoens before 8 am if you don’t want the sun to be directly in your photos or you can visit here later in the evening when the sun has moved in the opposite direction away from your camera angle giving you a soft glow in photos.

It is 2 level bridge where the upper level is used by metro line 6 and the lower level is used by vehicles. The center path right below the bridge is for bicycles and for pedestrians. There are several other spots at Pont de Bir Hakeim to photograph and all of them are truly stunning.

How to reach Pont de Bir Hakeim

Metro line 6 goes to Bir-Hakeim subway station and you will get off right at the bridge. Walk around 1-2 mins towards the center of the bridge to reach the spot where you can take photos.

The best time to visit Pont de Bir Hakeim is at sunrise when there are colors in the sky to get the perfect picture of the Eiffel tower. Sunrise also ensures no people or fewer people so that you can have the bridge to yourself.

SUVARNA’S TRAVEL TIP: If you can’t visit this bridge at sunrise then definitely visit in the morning as sunset can be really crowded here. You can still work out the angle of the Eiffel Tower at sunset but you will get no space to take photos inside the bridge to show the beautiful architecture. The bicycles will constantly be in your way.

5. Pont D’lena⁣

Pont D’lena is a 19th-century bridge over the Seine river and it offers a view of the Eiffel Tower up close. 8. Port Debilly

Port Debilly is a marina located right next to Pont D’lena bridge on both sides. It is a beautiful spot especially during sunset if you want to have a picnic with the view of the Eiffel tower while the sun is going down. As it is much less busy than the tourist-filled spots of Trocadero, this might be one of the best photography spots in Paris for sure.

Since Seine river flows along with Port Debilly, another great option to enjoy the evening would be to ride one of the romantic evening Seine River cruises with dinner.

How to reach Port Debilly

Take bus 72 and get off at the Pont D’lena bus stop. Port Debilly is in front of it so you can choose which side of the river you want to be on.
